At the end of the week, Gwen convinces me to accompany her to a Friday night out. She wants us to have a memorable time but I’m still struggling with my campaign proposal and I have a deadline coming up, so I turn Gwen down.

“But Chloeeee,” she whines, “you’re working too hard and I know that staying cooped up in here isn’t going to do you any wonders.” She tries to pry me out of my chair, pulling at my arms and everything. I eventually feel sorry for her childish antics so I get up. She takes both of my hands into hers and looks at me with puppy dog eyes. “Chloe, please, come on. Just one night, okay? We’ll go to a very, very special club and have some drinks and unwind.”

I toy with the idea. A special club eh? That certainly sounds intriguing. Maybe New York’s nightlife will do the trick. “Just tonight?” I ask Gwen hesitantly.

“Just tonight,” Gwen promises, “I’m certain it’ll help get your creative juices flowing. This place is going to blow your mind, I just know it! It has what you could say is a stimulating environment.” Then she adds as a matter-of-factly, “It should be good for your campaign proposal.”

Well, then. If Gwen puts it like that, using my campaign proposal to her favor, then I have no choice but to trust in her. She won’t stop raving about this “special” club. What is so special about it exactly? What does Gwen see in it? I want to know!

And there’s only one way to find out.

“Okay,” I finally say.

“Oh my God, yes!” Gwen goes, doing a little dance before throwing her arms around me. She’s so excited and bursting with energy that she is so close to suffocating me. “You’re not going to regret it, Chloe. It’s going to be a night to remember!”
